They don't publish some of the limits on their shared hosting accounts: 12 processes max, 128MB RAM total. They don't respond to complaints@1and1.com ever.
When I tried to leave them, they held my domains hostage for five days. |

Slow and incompetent support. A lot of downtime. Can be days in a month. Had data loss too. Take forever to setup servers. Wouldn't recommend to an enemy. Only thing they are good at are cheap domains. |

This company will charge you for the service that they did not provide. Even if you want to cancel the next day after you have been charged they will not allow this. This company has the worst customer service that I have seen in US. Horrible service. |
