(1&1) has announced that it is offering "binding orders" on a number of upcoming gTLDs. 1&1 customers interested in acquiring new domains before the official registry launch in January 2014 will be able make "firm" registrations through the company. This means 1&1 customers will be in a good position to secure the domains they require when they become available.

The UK branch of German United Internet Group subsidiary 1&1 Internet AG, 1&1 Internet Ltd. is based in Slough, UK. The company was launched in 1988 and is recognized as a leading European web host and domain registrar.
