VServers Announces Addition of VServer RAQ2 to Web Hosting Services |

Cobalt Networks RaQ 2 server appliances selected to provide VServers customers a full suite of dedicated Internet services
KIRKLAND, Wash. - (June 23, 1999) VServers (www.vservers.com), a global provider of Web hosting and e-commerce tools, announced today it will offer the Linux-based VServer RAQ2 to its product offerings using Cobalt Networks' RaQ 2 server appliances. The Cobalt RaQ 2 comes pre-configured with the Apache Web server, and provides tools that allow Perl scripting, Web publishing, email, and FTP. As a dedicated Web hosting solution, the VServer RAQ2, offers users remote administration capabilities, enabling them to leave the "shared-server" environment and take full control over the administration of their Web site.

The VServer RAQ2 is ideal for small to medium-sized business Web sites that generate a significant amount of traffic and is equipped with both IP and virtual hosting capabilities. It provides businesses with the ability to concurrently handle more than 140,000 emails, 50,000 file transfers, and 250,000 Web page requests per day, and can host 200 Web sites. When used strictly as a Web server, the VServer RAQ2 can handle a daily volume of over seven million Web page requests.

Features
The VServer RAQ2 offers low cost of ownership through features that are "plug-n-play." These features include ease of setup, remote administration, and pre-installed software. The VServer RAQ2 includes all the software needed to develop and host a high-traffic Web site and it includes standard development tools such as compilers, editors, debuggers, header files, and libraries.
Administration and maintenance of the VServer RAQ2 is performed remotely using simple, browser-based tools. These tools allow the customer to add and delete users or email accounts, as well as monitor the system. Maintenance agents also alert the user of potential problems before they become serious, providing plenty of time to take necessary action. In addition, the VServer RAQ2 comes complete with a browser-based backup and restore utility.
