Virtualscape Announces Availability of EdgeworX for Webhosting Clients |

Vscape International, Inc. (Virtualscape - http://www.virtualscape.com), a leader in advanced database web hosting, today announced the addition of Vectrix' EdgeworX web-application development tool to the database and programming tools it already provides.
EdgeworX is a development tool and execution framework that allows developers to quickly build and deploy highly-interactive web applications. Web development tasks specific to the web such as HTTP transaction management, form data processing, and HTML generation are handled by EdgeworX. It can be used to web-enable existing applications or create new applications such as electronic shopping carts.
At the heart of the EdgeworX framework is EdgeCOM, a class library of DCOM objects representing the basic components of a web application. The EdgeworX developer focuses on defining the application structure and the properties of the individual objects rather than on writing HTML and CGI. EdgeworX incorporates cross-functionality with Microsoft Office, ODBC data access and dozens of other applications from Microsoft and third party software vendors via ActiveX technology.
