LogicaCMG Wins FCO Web Management Contract; Verizon to Provide Hosting Support

February 20, 2007 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – LogicaCMG has won a five-year £11.5m ($22.47m) web management contract from the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) - a government agency that offers British travelers advice on going abroad - Computer Weekly announced recently. Web hosting provider Verizon will provide web hosting support for the project.

The FCO’s website receives around 24 million visitors per year and in times of major incident this increases dramatically. Computer Weekly quoted Peter Ricketts, FCO permanent under secretary, as saying, “The partnership between the FCO and LogicaCMG will ensure the right IT system and high-quality service are in place to make the FCO more accessible and improve our service delivery over the next decade.”

LogicaCMG will manage implementation in over 200 embassies, consulates, and high commissions worldwide and provide consultancy on issues such as visitor up-take, usability, security and website demand. The new platform will to go live in 2008.
