Hosting and Applications Infrastructure Provider Rackforce Introduces New IBM Quad-Core Servers |

April 3, 2007 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Hosting and applications infrastructure provider Rackforce (http://www.rackforce.com/) has introduced new IBM quad-core servers to give its customers “more processing power and reliability” while reducing electricity costs, the company announced today. According to the company, their new servers are three times faster than Rackforce’s previous servers and use 30% less electricity.
“One of our highest costs is powering our data centers, and anything we can do to save electricity makes a big impact on costs,” explained Rackforce President, Mr. Tim Dufour. “Our first priority is to provide our customers with the best value and the most reliable hosting available, and the second is being as environmentally responsible and energy efficient as possible. Our new IBM quad-core servers help us achieve those priorities.”
RackForce has three data centers located in British Columbia, each powered by hydro power. The company offers a range of services including dedicated servers, virtual private servers and collocation services. They purchased 320 IBM System x servers in 2006 at a cost of $1.2 million and plan to purchase an additional 600 additional servers later this year. |
