Web Hosting Provider Interland Changes name to Web.com, Inc. |

February 22, 2006 (HOSTSEARCH.COM) Web hosting provider Interland announced that its much heralded name change to Web.com, Inc. will take place on March 20, 2006. The company has made the name change because it believes Web.com, Inc. enables it to align itself more closely with its core web services business. The companys NASDAQ stock exchange ticker will remain "WWWW".
"The Web.com name embraces everything in a brand that offers web services to both small businesses and consumers," stated Jeff Stibel, President and CEO, Interland. "From a business perspective, we feel the name change will enable powerful new marketing, business development and sales opportunities. While we intend to leverage the Interland name as it is well known within the technical community, we will focus on making Web.com the standard for creating a powerful web presence."
The new Web.com, Inc. will continue to provide the same range of services Interland offered including domain name registration, web design and a popular suite if web hosting options. According to the company more than 4 million websites have been built using Web.com's tools and services. |
