Hurricane Electric Presents Randal L. Schwartz and the “Learning Perl” Seminar

Fremont, CA (October 5, 2004)– Hurricane Electric, a leading Technical Service Provider, will host a two part series on Perl Programming. The first seminar in the series, “Learning Perl,” being held on October 30, 2004, is geared towards beginners and will touch on introductory Perl Programming.

Randal L. Schwartz, twenty-year veteran of the software industry and renowned O'Reilly author of numerous books including Learning Perl and Programming Perl, will lead the comprehensive seminar, which will expose participants to the most important parts of Perl, those items that are needed to accomplish many common tasks, and lay the groundwork for a more advanced study of the language on November 20, 2004 during “Intermediate Perl,” the second seminar in this series.

“This is an excellent opportunity to learn a general-purpose programming language that is widely used in web development, Internet services, mail filtering, and systems administration from a seasoned expert in the field,” said Mike Leber, Hurricane Electric president. “We are excited to secure Randal L. Schwartz for this seminar.”

Seminar participants will receive a free month of colocation at Hurricane Electric’s Fremont facility for their participation in the seminar. They will also receive a free copy of Randal L. Schwartz’s popular O'Reilly Nutshell book, Learning Perl, and a current edition of the Linux Journal Magazine.

“Learning Perl,” will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2004, in Fremont, CA, between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided by Hurricane Electric. The cost of the seminar is $199. Space is limited, so register early. To register for “Learning Perl,” complete the form located at http://www.he.net/seminar/perl1.html or call 510-580- 4141.
