Web Hosting Provider Hostway Acquires Affinity Internet |

April 6, 2007 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web hosting provider Hostway has acquired Affinity Internet, it was announced recently. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The resulting entity has 750 employees catering for 600,000 customers in 11 countries. The new organization also has a combined total of 15 operations centers
around the world.
Asked to comment on the acquisition, Mr. Jim Collins, Affinity’s CEO suggested he was not able to comment because he no longer has an “official position”. Reports suggest the new company will be led by Hostway CEO, Lucas Roh. A company spokeswoman added that Affinity’s office in Fort Lauderdale, USA and will remain for "the foreseeable future".
This integration of the former rivals is the result of a number of months of discussion and negotiation that creates a potential powerhouse within the web hosting industry, making it one of the largest in terms of revenue and customers. The new organization enjoys a much wider range of products and services than either of the two previous organizations, broadening appeal of both to potential customers. |
