NaviSite has announced a new data backup service for enterprises. NaviSite, owned by Time Warner Cable, is offering the new service as part of its NaviCloud® Intelligent Storage (NCIS) solutions. Known as NCIS Vault, the service enables companies to establish an on premise storage capability which protects data and offers data replication to the NaviCloud platform.
With the total amount of information created and replicated in 2011 surpassing 1.8 zettabytes and likely to grow 45% at a Compound Annual Growth rate from 2010 to 2015, data storage has become a major challenge for companies who wish to save multiple copies of data for a range of business purposes (disaster recover, testing, data protection, etc.). NCIS Vault reduces the amount of replicated storage businesses produce without critical data loss.
Utilizing Actifio’s copy data storage system and Dedupe-Async replication technology, NCIS Vault provides installation, configuration, and data protection set up. It also enables users to manage their own devices and pay for NaviCloud-based replication services. They can also increase storage capacity as required and pay only for storage used.
