Web Hosting Provider GrokThis.net Announces Microsoft’s SQL Server 2005 Support |

October 31, 2006 - (HOSTSEARCH.COM) - Web hosting provider GrokThis.net (http://www.grokthis.net) has announced the introduction of support for Microsoft’s SQL Server 2005. The company’s new service compliments its existing support of Mono ASP.NET and it will allow users to “perform a multi-step migration from Microsoft’s .NET Framework to the inexpensive Mono platform and free databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL”.
According to the company, GrokThis.net is the “oldest commercial provider of hosting solutions based on Mono ASP.NET” - a free implementation of the .NET framework written under the General Public License (GPL).
"I’m glad, not only that we’re able to provide new and interesting enhancements to (hosting) packages, but also that we can continue to support Open Source development for products such as Mono, by providing support, services, and generally increasing product awareness," explained Eric Windisch, GrokThis.net’s Founder.
Microsoft SQL Server is the first commercial software GrokThis.net has added to its suite of services. The news of the company’s Microsoft SQL Server 2005 support comes on the heels of GrokThis.net’s signing of Microsoft’s SPLA licensing agreement. |
