| August 1, 2007 (HOSTSEARCH.COM) New web hosting provider Greenest Host (http://www.greenesthost.com/) opens for business today promising hosting completely powered by solar technology. The US-based company opens a new 2,000-square-foot data center located in the Southern California dessert. "Personally, my core values tend to skew toward green application and green causes, explained the companys Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Mike Corrales was quoted by United Press International as saying. "We wanted to make it really easy for end consumers and small businesses to be able to build their own web sites in a way that coincided with their own personal value system." Greenest Host utilizes a solar array to charge batteries for night usage and to power daytime activity. The energy generated by the array caters for 600 servers. The company also has a propane-fueled backup generator and utilizes servers it suggests use around 60 percent less energy. |
