Web Hosting Provider Globat.com Announces Sponsored Birth Successful |

March 24, 2006 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Los Angeles-based web hosting provider Globat.com (http://www.globat.com) with a penchant for off-the-wall sponsorship has announced the birth of Samiah Wynn Francis at 2:31 a.m. on Saturday, March 18th, 2006. Born at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital in St. Peters, Missouri, baby Samiah came in at came in at six pounds, fifteen ounces and both mother and child are healthy.
Becoming what is thought to be the first corporate sponsor of a birth, Globat.com videoed the event for posterity and the video will soon appear on one of the company’s websites. The birth apparently involved hospital personnel in attendance wearing Gloabt t-shorts and caps and the baby sporting a temporary tattoo of Globat.com’s logo.
Discussing the event Globat’s President and CEO Ben R. Neumann suggested,” It's a very humbling thought that we've actually helped a little to bring a new life into the world. Hopefully, one day Samiah will be able to understand how much we have all been affected by her!"
The childbirth sponsorship is one of a number of curious sponsorship activities Globat have been engaged it. These include the purchase of an antique fly, a tattooed human billboard and sponsoring an MBA student’s term paper. |
