Web Hosting Provider Easy CGI Provides Form-based Password Protection Option for Windows 2008 Hosting
May 29, 2008 (HOSTSEARCH.COM) Windows web hosting provider Easy CGI (http://www.easycgi.com) is now providing a form-based password protection option for its Windows 2008 hosting products, it was reported today. The option allows users to establish an extra layer of security and is being offered without additional cost.
This provides an optimal, flexible development environment for our customers, which has always been a priority for us, explained Easy CGIs President, Dan Richfield. Where many other providers still only offer solutions with no method of customization, and often cannot secure all content equally, Easy CGI offers a cutting-edge, fully customizable Forms Authentication solution for all of its Windows 2008 customers. The new forms feature allows Easy CGI customers to restrict access to certain parts of their sites. When unauthorized visitors land on restricted pages, they are redirected to a login form or a registration page. The feature is a product of Microsoft's Windows Server version 2008 with IIS 7.0, which offers a more easily configured forms authentication model when compared to older versions. According to the company, Some of the common areas where password protection is desirable include the administration pages in your virtual store, an image gallery, an account page (for example, with a phone company or other utility), and other online applications and resources.
Launched in 1998, Easy CGI hosts over 20,000 websites. The company offers a range of services, including shared hosting, virtual server and dedicated server options.
