Versutus IT has established headquarters in Rutherglen, Scotland. The company, which has offices and datacenters the United Kingdom (Cheshire, London, Nottingham and Newcastle) and South Africa, provides a range of services including Infrastructure-as-a-Service, Managed-recovery-as-a-Service, and Vaulting-as-a-Service. The company has intentions to extend its footprint to either to Holland or Germany in the near future.
Versutus IT was established by 36-year-old Tommy Stirling, a native of the Cambuslang, a Scottish town near Rutherglen. Formerly an IT Network Storage manager at Hewlett Packard (HP) in Scotland (where he worked for 4 years), Mr. Stirling established Versutus IT after being employed by the DTP group. Despite the international nature of his organization, Mr. Stirling maintains the company’s headquarters in Scotland. “It made sense,” he explained to the Scottish newspaper, the Daily Record. “I’m from Cambuslang and so is my family, so it’s right next door. We’ve got a lot of staff that stay in Cambuslang and King’s Park as well. The site has great, easy access to the city centre for the staff, but mainly I wanted to keep our head offices in the local area.”
Versutus IT prides itself on providing data backups for SMEs and other organizations through its Versutus v Cloud product. “I actually think it’s dangerous for a company not to the use the cloud,” he went on to explain. “Power failure, theft or even things going on fire and your data is gone! It sounds farfetched, but it happens.” With data stored in the cloud, companies experiencing a catastrophic failure of any nature (including theft) can be back in business within one hour with email, billing or customer databases fully restored.
