Blogs, short for Web logs, have grown astronomically over the past few years. The 5 million blogs created by the end of 2003 are expected to reach 10 million by the end of 2004, according to a survey by the Perseus Development Corp.
Not only are the numbers increasing, but the demographics of blogging are expanding.
At the end of 2003, more than 92 percent of blogs had been created by people under 30 years old, with the averager blogger being a teenager who updated her friends weekly or so about her activities.

Fitness clubs are encouraging blogs for their clients and organizations are using them as message board for members.
