BURLEE NETWORKS EXPANDS INTO NEW HEADQUARTERS |
 |
Burlington, VT - Burlee Networks is pleased to announce the start of construction of its new 14,000 sq. ft. headquarters and Internet data center. The facility will house Burlee Networks operations, and will contain a 4,000 sq. ft. data center, the largest of its kind in the state, and it will be among the most technologically advanced data centers in the country.
Burlee Networks will be the fourth and final tenant in Technology Park at South Burlington, which is home to the corporate headquarters of Ben & Jerrys Ice Cream, Burton Snowboards manufacturing facility, and SymQuest Group.
The design of the space takes its architectural clues from the landscape of Vermont, with sloping spline walls evoking the mountain landscape, and colors chosen from the natural surroundings. The space will also contain a large Koi fish pond and waterfall, lined with Lake Champlain shale, and a number of boulders from local quarries will be placed throughout the space. The interior reflects Burlees corporate culture, eschewing large conference tables in favor of couches, conference rooms in favor of lounges and cubicles in favor of open team work environments. Twenty-four foot ceilings will allow for the placement of large trees within the space itself.
Burlee Networks is one of Vermonts fastest growing companies, and one of the countrys leading Web hosts. The company has established itself as one of the preeminent firms in the industry. Founded by William J. Maris, a graduate of Middlebury College in Middlebury, VT, the company has its roots in the state, but a global client base. Operating in a clean, non-polluting industry, and creating many new, high-quality jobs in-state, Burlee Networks is proud to be both a national and a local leader in its industry, as well as the only socially responsible Web host - the company will not host any pornographic, exploitative or dangerous material. Burlee Networks is a progressive, fast-growing, employee-oriented, leader in its industry.
The facility will be built by Broad Loaf Corporation of Middlebury, VT, under a design of Stephen Broadhead, architect. The data center design is by CCR Pyramid of Boston, MA, landscape and interior pond design by Dunn, Hamelin & Kane - Landscape Architects, of Burlington, VT, electrical by Omega Electric of Burlington, VT, and HVAC by New England Air Systems of Williston, VT. |
