AvidNewMedia Prepares for Datacenter Migration |
 |
May 08, 2004 -- Pittsburgh, PA --
AvidNewMedia prepares for a large datacenter migration, but there is more than one datacenter involved.
According to AvidNewMedia co-president Mark Klink, "We are moving services to 3 of the most outstanding datacenters available today."
First on the list for the migration is the Shared & Reseller Solutions. These services are being moved to the Peer1 datacenter in New York.
The Peer1 network will provide AvidNewMedia Shared & Reseller Solution clients with the following:
Peer 1 Benefits:
100% uptime guarantee More connectivity options 100 Mb, GigE, OC3, OC12, OC48 Multiple upstream providers No single point of failure Zero packet loss Fastest inter-city times, second to none Network Engineer available 24/7
Next on the list for the migration is the two new datacenters for the Dedicated Solutions.
Previously, AvidNewMedia had their Dedicated Solutions in the BurstNET datacenter, which was local to them. However, after numerous problemsome network related issues, AvidNewMedia has decided to remove clients from the BurstNET datacenter, to provide a better quality service.
The two new datacenters involved in the Dedicated Solutions migration are Global Compass, and The Planet.
Plans to begin the migration are on or around May 15th, 2004, and AvidNewMedia predicts it will go smoothly.
Co-President James Romedy stated, "It is very important that our clients, especially our reseller base, receive and follow the migration process, and instruction very closely, to make for the smothest migration possible." |
