AvidNewMedia Gets Automated |
 |
PITTSBURGH - - January 8, 2004 -
While automation in the hosting industry is nothing new, AvidNewMedia has moved into the automated stage of hosting for 2004.
The idea of a sales staff sitting around for countless hours creating every new account that comes in, may sound tiresome, but when you are part of that sales staff, actually performing those functions can become quite overwhelming. However, this doesn't cease the fact that these new accounts need to be setup quickly and properly.
AvidNewMedia has launched it's new automated account signup, and processing, to help ease the workload on their sales staff, but also recognized security in their decision.
"Security is a big issue with any automated system, and we have quite a few surprises for those that try to signup fraudulant accounts, or spam account." said Mark Klink, AvidNewMedia Co-President.
One of the biggest issues facing an automated account activation system, is the fact that it traditionally opens the door for spammers to have instant access to an account from which to spam from. It also opens the door for many fraudulant signups from people with stolen credit cards, etc.
While AvidNewMedia has no claims of 100% security, as Klink stated "nothing is 100% secure," they do have measures in place to thwart these type of attempts.
While no one from AvidNewMedia has commented on what these new security features, and steps were, they promise them to be swift, and strict.
The primary goal of this new automated system, is to allow the sales staff to focus on primary issues, rather than the relentless account creation process. The staff will still keep a watchful eye on all operations and signups, ad be better equipped to handle each account as they come in.
