Slemma has been added to the “AWS Marketplace”. Slemma, an analytics solution, is billed as being a “certified business intelligence tool” that is “ready to connect to your Amazon hosted solutions”. Browser-based Slemma offers data visualization and is designed with the needs of small to medium-sized businesses in mind.
Slemma enables users to connect to a range of data solutions. It offers an intuitive interface that allows users to create dashboards that offer insights into a range of information. No coding is required to operate Slemma, nor is it necessary to run queries. Companies do not need to purchase servers to operate it as an analytics solution, nor do they need to employ data scientists. Slemma gives companies the information they need and allows them to focus on, and devote resources to, their core competencies.
The addition of Slemma as an AWS tool underscores the growing importance of the solution. As it is a cloud application, it accesses databases and warehouses that are hosted online. AWS offers companies a number of options to host Postgres and MySQL servers and make queries using Slemma’s “direct connectors”. The solution works well with Amazon Redshift, which is “built specifically to streamline querying”. Redshift provides a “warehousing solution that scales better, avoids setup time, and is less expensive”. As a result, Redshift and Slemma are entirely complementary as both solutions make data-driven decision making more accessible.
