Canadian Web Hosting Provider BlueFur.com Announces Carbon Neutral Program

February 27, 2007
February 27, 2007 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – In a bid to become more environmentally friendly, Canadian web hosting provider BlueFur.com (http://www.bluefur.com) has announced it is launching a carbon neutral program. The company will plant a tree in Canada annually for every server it operates.

“Global warming is creating a dire situation for the planet. We’ve all heard the evidence, most of us have read the reports, and frankly, it’s time we step up and do our part,” explained President of BlueFur.com, Lisa Jones. “Most importantly, we hope our leadership in doing this will convince other web service providers to follow suit.”

BlueFur worked with a Canadian service to establish the number of trees required to balance its greenhouse-gas emissions. The company hopes that by planting trees, it can offset the overall environmental impact of its unavoidable carbon usage. Its Carbon Neutral program will continue indefinitely and the company will consider other ways to become environmentally friendly.

“It’s apparent that a lot more needs to be done to thwart the effects of global warming and the destruction of nature,” explained Ms. Jones. “We will certainly be making this a focus in the coming months and years, and we certainly encourage our customers to do the same.”
