Software and cloud services giant Microsoft and cloud CRM provider salesforce.com have partnered in a bid to establish new mobile solutions for ‘mutual customers’. The news was released last Thursday (May 29, 2014).
The partnership will see solutions that leverage the strengths of both organizations. Already a potential Salesforce1 solution for both Windows and Windows Phone 8.1 has been touted for availability in 2015. This will enable Salesforce customers to manage customer details through Windows mobile and desktop devices. In addition, Salesforce for Office 365 is on the agenda. This will enable users to share data held in either platform. In addition, OneDrive for Business and SharePoint Online solutions have been mentioned.
"We are excited to partner with salesforce.com and help customers thrive in a mobile and cloud-first world," explained Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella in a statemement. "Working together we'll deliver new solutions that connect the customer insights of Salesforce to the cloud productivity of Office 365, the cloud platform of Azure and the mobility of Windows, so our customers can do more."
